About Dustin Long

I have surfed in Hawaii, skied in Canada, gone dogsledding in Alaska and even sung in front of about 1,000 people while wearing a dunce cap (long story but it was all in good fun). My wildest experiences, though, have come covering NASCAR, which I have done since 1999. I have covered more than 400 Cup races during that time.

I am a NASCAR Hall of Fame voter and past president of the National Motorsports Press Association. I am the Senior Writer for Motor Racing Network. My work appears at MRN.com.

My work has appeared in USA Today, The New York Times, Sports Illustrated’s website, SI.com, along with newspapers in Norfolk, Va., Roanoke, Va., and Greensboro, N.C., among other places. I’ve written three books. I wrote “The Petty Family Album” and have done two children’s books, including one on the Daytona 500.
